Achievement Guide

Monster Hunter Wilds has exactly 50 Steam achievements. No achievements are missable. You can earn every one on a single character after finishing the main campaign.

The final achievement, Eastward Wings, unlocks when you complete all other 49 achievements. Expect 200+ hours to reach 100% completion, with crown hunting and Artian Weapon farming being the longest grinds.

All achievements must be completed on the same character. Starting a new character does not carry over progress.

Story Achievements (Secret)

These unlock automatically as you progress through the main campaign. They are hidden in the Steam achievement list until you earn them.

Windward Lands	Complete the mission "The Desert Trotters." Your first story mission in the Windward Plains.
New Ecosystems	Complete the mission "New Ecosystems."
A Bitter Environment	Complete the mission "Wyvern Sparks and Rose Thorns."
Shadow in the Downpour	Complete the mission "Beyond the Deluge." Scarlet Forest story climax.
Guardians of the Forge	Complete the mission "Long-forgotten Flame." Oilwell Basin story climax.
Beyond the Black Wings	Complete the mission "A World Turned Upside Down."
One Corner of the World	Complete the mission "What Lies Ahead." Formally concludes the base game narrative.
Bringer of Harmony	Complete the mission "Monster Hunter." The final story mission. Unlocks post-game content.

All story achievements are automatic. Play through the campaign and they unlock in order.

Hunting and Combat Achievements

Let the Investigations Begin!	Complete your first Investigation.
A Step Toward Mutual Understanding	Complete your first side mission. Talk to NPCs with speech bubbles in Kunafa and other settlements.
East to West, A Hunter Never Rests	Complete 30 different side missions. These are specific NPC requests found under the Mission Info tab, entirely distinct from Optional Quests.
The Bigger They Are...	Successfully mount a monster for the first time.
Hunter-Assassin	Perform your first successful Sneak Attack.
Hit 'Em Where It Hurts!	Land 50 successful attacks on weak points or wounds in Focus Mode.
Capture Pro	Capture 50 monsters.
Monster Slayer	Hunt 100 large monsters.
Monster Ph.D.	Hunt many different large monsters (complete variety across the roster).
A True Hunter Is Never Satisfied	Complete 50 quests.
Top of the Food Chain (Secret)	Hunt 50 apex predators.
Seasoned Hunter (Secret)	Hunt 50 Tempered monsters. Requires deep engagement with the endgame threat-level scaling systems.

Side missions unlock Canteen recipes, Palico support moves, camp locations, and other critical upgrades. Do them as they appear rather than saving them for later. The "East to West" achievement comes naturally if you keep up with NPC requests.

Crown Achievements

Crown hunting requires capturing or slaying monsters that spawn at the extreme ends of their procedural size scale. Use binoculars in the field to check for gold or silver crown icons next to a monster's name before engaging.

Miniature Crown	Obtain your first miniature crown in the Hunting Log.
Miniature Crown Collector	Obtain a miniature crown for 10 or more monsters.
Miniature Crown Master	Obtain a miniature crown for many monsters.
Giant Crown	Obtain your first silver crown or higher.
Giant Crown Collector	Obtain a gold crown for 10 or more monsters.
Giant Crown Master	Obtain a gold crown for many monsters.
A Keen-eyed Observation	Use the binoculars to spot a gold-crown large monster in the field.

Crown Hunting Tips

1. Use your binoculars. The binoculars display a gold or silver crown icon next to the monster's name if it qualifies. Check before fighting to avoid wasting time on normal-sized targets.
2. Cycle Investigations. Investigations lock the procedural generation seed. Running the same Investigation gives you the same monster size every time. Cycle through different, newly generated Investigations for fresh size rolls.
3. Rest at camps during Environment Link. Resting forces a server-side respawn of the map's entities with new size rolls.
4. Track your progress. Open the Hunter's Notes and check the size records for each monster. Crowns are marked when earned.

Crown hunting is the longest grind in the game. Do not try to farm all crowns at once. Focus on monsters that appear in the same region and run Investigations in that area. You will earn many crowns passively over hundreds of hours of play.

Endemic Life and Exploration Achievements

Angling for a Bite	Successfully fish for the first time.
A-fish-ionado	Reel in 30 whoppers while fishing.
Monster (Squid) Hunter	Catch a giant squid while fishing. Giant squid appear at specific deep-water fishing spots.
A Prize Held High (Secret)	Catch a creature that bears an ancient wyvern coin.
I Caught a Shooting Star! (Secret)	Catch a creature in the desert that shines like a shooting star. Check the Windward Plains at night.
Explorer of the Eastlands	Obtain 10 different special items of Rarity 6. This requires harvesting rare endemic life like the Wyvernsprout, which grows exclusively on the rotting corpses of slain Ceratonoths.

Camp, Companion, and Social Achievements

Campmaster	Establish Pop-up Camps in 10 places. Build temporary fast-travel tents at ecological nodes scattered across all five regions.
Glamper	Customize a Pop-up Camp for the first time. Apply furnishings to any established Pop-up Camp.
Ride-or-die Companion	Customize your Seikret or change its decorations for the first time. Visit Nona in Kunafa (during daytime) or use the Appearance Menu at any base camp.
Someone Worth Following	Complete 100 quests with your Palico deployed.
Mmm, So Tasty!	Successfully cook a well-done steak for the first time at the BBQ Grill.
Was It a Meal to Remember?	Cook over the BBQ Grill for the first time.
Hunters United	Complete a quest via multiplayer.
Hunters United Forever	Complete 100 quests via multiplayer.
Gossip Hunter	View 30 different Hunter Profiles.
Newly Forged Bonds	Follow someone for the first time.

Nona despawns during the night cycle and Inclemency weather. If you arrive in Kunafa and the village is empty, rest at a tent until morning to force her to respawn at the stables. This is a common blocker for the "Ride-or-die Companion" achievement.

Gear Progression Achievements

Achievement	How to Unlock
Established Hunter	Reach Hunter Rank 100. Hunter Rank points accumulate from the start but are hard-locked during the first three story chapters. The cap lifts at HR 15, 20, and 40 upon completing specific threshold quests before scaling rapidly.
Impregnable Defense	Forge five different pieces of armor with Rarity 7 or higher.
Power Is Everything	Forge five different weapons with Rarity 7 or higher.
A Legacy Restored (Secret)	Obtain an Artian Weapon of Rarity 8. Tied to the endgame RNG grind for Group Skill min-maxing.
Bourgeois Hunter	Possess 1,000,000 Zenny.

The Apex Accolade

Achievement	How to Unlock
Eastward Wings	Obtain all other 49 achievements. This serves as the functional equivalent of a PlayStation Platinum trophy.

Recommended Completion Strategy

Phase 1: Story Campaign (0-40 hours)

1. Play through the entire main story. All 8 story achievements unlock along the way.
2. Complete side missions as they appear. You should have 15-20 side missions done by the time the credits roll.
3. Craft multiple weapon and armor sets. "Impregnable Defense" and "Power Is Everything" require Rarity 7+ gear, which becomes available in High Rank.
4. Join at least one multiplayer quest for "Hunters United."
5. Customize your Seikret for "Ride-or-die Companion" and set up your first Pop-up Camp.
6. Cook a Well-Done Steak at the BBQ Grill for "Mmm, So Tasty!"

Phase 2: Post-Story Cleanup (40-80 hours)

7. Complete remaining side missions to hit the 30 required for "East to West, A Hunter Never Rests."
8. Build Pop-up Camps across all regions to hit 10 for "Campmaster." Customize one for "Glamper."
9. Fish in every region. Target whoppers for "A-fish-ionado" and hunt for the giant squid.
10. Start running Investigations for rare materials and crown chances.
11. Hunt Tempered monsters for endgame gear and progress toward "Seasoned Hunter" (50 Tempered kills).
12. Complete 50 total quests for "A True Hunter Is Never Satisfied."
13. Reach Hunter Rank 100 for "Established Hunter" through Investigation grinding.

Phase 3: Endgame Grinding (80-150 hours)

14. Focus crown hunting on one region at a time. Use binoculars on every monster before engaging.
15. Cycle through different Investigations for fresh size rolls. Do not repeat the same Investigation for crown farming.
16. Farm for Rarity 8 Artian Weapons for "A Legacy Restored."
17. Accumulate 1,000,000 Zenny for "Bourgeois Hunter" (happens naturally through Tempered hunts).
18. Complete 100 multiplayer quests for "Hunters United Forever."
19. Complete 100 quests with your Palico for "Someone Worth Following."

Phase 4: Crown Cleanup (150-200+ hours)

20. Track remaining crown gaps in the Hunter's Notes size records.
21. View 30 Hunter Profiles for "Gossip Hunter."
22. Follow another player for "Newly Forged Bonds."
23. Mop up any remaining hunt count achievements (100 large monsters, 50 apex predators, 50 Tempered).
24. Hunt down the last endemic life targets, including the Rarity 6 items for "Explorer of the Eastlands."
25. Eastward Wings unlocks when all 49 other achievements are complete.

The crown grind and Artian Weapon farming are the two walls between casual completion and 100%. Crown hunting benefits from binoculars and Investigation cycling. Artian farming happens naturally while grinding Tempered and Arch-Tempered hunts for Talismans and decorations.
